Financial
PNG is funded by various sources, including the Los Altos and Mountain View Rotary Clubs and Kiwanis Clubs, the Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District, the Los Altos Community Foundation, the Packard Foundation, The Town Crier Holiday Fund, the Mountain View Voice Holiday Fund, and many other community organizations, foundations, corporations and individuals. The primary expense is to pay for three part-time employees who serve as mentor coordinators and provide program development.
Today over 150 volunteers are working with PNG at various levels.
Data
There are over 150 PNG volunteers in the Mountain View and Los Altos Schools. There is always a great need for additional volunteers.
Sustainability
We need your financial support! Why?
Here is the reason! Partners for New Generations employs three mentor coordinators to manage our program. The coordinator’s responsibility is to take a potential mentor and match them with an appropriate student mentee. Each year PNG mentors 120 high school students in our three local high schools. Not only do the coordinators make these matches, they monitor these “pairs” throughout the life of the individual relationships.
The PNG mentor coordinators are part time consultants with a background in education/counseling. All three have been matching and coordinating mentor pairings for several years.
Our annual budget for supporting these coordinators, recruiting mentors and tutors and marketing is $82,000. We need your financial assistance in order to maintain the sustainability and quality of this extremely vital program for our high school students.
